Kicking Against The Pricks is an online music and film publication formed in July 2010. We briefly existed as a 'pay what you like' print 'zine but that failed spectacularly and truthfully was a bit shit. After a year spent in our previous aesthetic format we re-launched with the site you see now in July 2011.
We release online issues - originally monthly but now fortnightly as of August 2011 with the aim of going weekly by the end of 2011 - so keeping our focus on content and not constant news updates (i.e. regurgitated press-releases).
We were voted Website of The Year for 2010 by the excellent Loud & Quiet magazine. We are based in Sheffield but cover content across the UK and US. We nicked the title from a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds record, who in turn nicked it from The Bible. We are not sure where the Bible got it from.
